This is the earlier version of the Raspberry Pi Camera Module, so-called the 5 Megapixel, Rev 1.3 camera module. It is a custom-designed add-on for Raspberry Pi and is compatible with all Raspberry Pi models including:
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 8GB, 4GB, 2GB, 1GB Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ Raspberry Pi Zero V1.3, require special FFC, included in the camera packing list Raspberry Pi Zero W (Wireless), require special FFC, included in this camera packing list Raspberry Pi Zero WH (Wireless and Header), require special FFC, included in this camera packing list Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, require special FFC, included in the camera packing list Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WCH (Wireless with Colored Header), require special FFC, included in the camera packing list It attaches to Raspberry Pi by way of one of the two small sockets on the board upper surface, there is a label of "CAMERA". This interface uses the dedicated CSI interface, which was designed especially for interfacing with cameras. The CSI bus is capable of extremely high data rates, and it exclusively carries pixel data.
Note: Raspberry Pi is NOT INCLUDED.
The sensor itself has a native resolution of 5 megapixels and has a fixed focus lens onboard. In terms of still images, the camera is capable of 2592 x 1944 pixel static images, and also supports 1080p @ 30fps, 720p @ 60fps and 640x480p 60/90 video.
Note: As Raspberry Pi releases the latest Operating System, the bullseye, you might need to enable the camera legacy support if your microSD card comes with the bullseye OS (desktop show a sunset wallpaper).
