he PC-TIO-10 is a Timing and Digital Input/Output Interface. The NI PC-TIO-10 is manufactured by National Instruments. The PC-TIO-10 is compatible with NI-DAQ driver software. NI-DAQ driver software provides aid for analog to digital conversion, buffered data gaining, digital to analog conversion, and digital input/output functions. This interface can be utilized with LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI application software for multiple functions. The PC-TIO-10 can be operated on Windows and DOS operating systems.

The NI PC-TIO-10 is fabricated as a timing interface for computers. The PC-TIO-10 is built with two Am9513A AMD STCs that are utilized for time interfacing functions. The National Instruments PC-TIO-10 performs multiple pulse measurements, as well as wave generation functions by using AMD modules. This Timing and Digital Input/Output Interface has a Motorola MC6821 PIA which is utilized for the digital input/output interfaces. The PC-TIO-10 is designed with two edge-sensitive terminated inputs with programmable selection for the edge levels. The PC-TIO-10 can connect external TTL signals to the terminating inputs.

The NI PC-TIO-10 is manufactured with a timing circuit with multiple types of functions. These functions include wave generation functions, frequency shift keying (FSK), pulse-spread measurement, counting time duration, alarm beeping, and recording event duration. The PC-TIO-10 has digital input/output lines that provide an interface to the PC with several functions. This interface is compatible with BCD panel meters as well as test instruments. The NI PC-TIO-10 is capable of transforming a computer into a timing and digital input/output controller that can be used for testing purposes in labs, production, and industrial monitoring processes. The NI instrument is equipped with a 50-pin male ribbon-cable connector. It has a typical power requirement of 5 VDC at 0.6 A, and requires up to 5 VDC at 1.4 A.

The NI device measures 3.9 x 4.76 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° to 70 °C, a storage temperature range of –55° to 150 °C, and an operating and storage humidity range of 5% to 90% – in non-condensing conditions.

PC-TIO-10 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the interface will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
