She is a 17 year old Princess, the sole heir to the throne on Alexandria. She is mature, calm and enjoys literature. She has the ability to summon magical creatures called Eidolons, and is one of very few who can. She can be a free spirit at times and this often causes Steiner, her guardian and also Captain of the Knights of Pluto, to be very over-protective. She later encounters Zidane Tribal and goes under the alias Dagger. In battle, Garnet/Dagger serves as a White Mage and Summoner. Her weapon of choice is usually some variation of a rod. Her primary use early in the game is to heal her comrades in battle and support them. As the game progresses, she becomes more versatile with the ability to summon her Eidolons, which can cause large amounts of damage to multiple enemies.
