The TACable is the sub-brand of the Hakugei which is a famous brand known for its impeccable cables for earphones. For this price, the cable did exceed expectations in terms of both the build and the sound.
BUILD AND DESIGN:
The TACable is built very solid and premium overall. Even though they are priced very less, the premium feels that they provide is unmatchable in this price range. The supple nature that this cable provides is very nice and the materials that they have used in the cable are very premium. For instance the slider, splitter, and the termination everything is made out of metal and thus the durability of this product is top-notch. The strain relief provided at the termination end is very nice and gives that extra touch of premium.
133 cores consisting of 50% Black Litz 5N OCC and 50% Silver-plated Litz 5N OCC wires with DuPont PVC insulation. The whole cable has that black and white look thus it looks very classy and subtle. The cable organizer has also been provided.
The good thing about the cable is that they have used metal parts for most of the areas and this is really a very good move from the brand.
SOUND:
The Obsidian cable does improve the sound a bit. Especially if you pair it with the balanced or midrange-focused IEMs. The low end gets, even more, boosted a bit but in a good way where the texture and the control get improved. The treble now breathes a good amount of air, thus the separation and the openness got even improved.
The midrange however took a step back in the placement but not that obvious. People who like a laidback and relaxed sound signature will love this cable pairing with the IEM which has a balanced to mid-focus. SYARAT KOMPLAIN:
