Indonesia, June 8, 2022 – Tokopedia continues to empower businesses, especially local MSMEs, to maximize their sales and successes nationally through ‘Dilayani Tokopedia’–a network of smart warehouses in several regions across Indonesia–while advancing Indonesia’s economic recovery.
"We note that the farthest shipping using Dilayani Tokopedia in the first quarter of 2022 was from Medan, North Sumatra to Merauke, Papua. Transactions using Dilayani Tokopedia also grew more than five times higher in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021," Tokopedia's Associate Vice President of Fulfillment Samuel Simanjuntak said.
Dilayani Tokopedia also makes purchasing everyday items faster and more efficient for the Indonesian people. In the first quarter of 2022, the fastest delivery through Dilayani Tokopedia was recorded at 10 minutes, from ordering the product until receiving it.
Categories with the highest transactions through Dilayani Tokopedia in Q1 2022 include Healthcare, Personal Care, Food and Beverage, Mom and Baby, and Household.
Dilayani Tokopedia, also a manifestation of Tokopedia’s Hyperlocal initiative, assists sellers in overcoming business challenges such as product inbound, packing, shipment, as well as issue resolution should there be any.
According to a May 2022 internal data, sellers see their average transactions spike nearly four times larger after using Dilayani Tokopedia. Amazara and Toko Kopi Gayo are examples of local MSMEs that leverage Dilayani Tokopedia and feel its positive effects.
Amazara, a Yogyakarta-based MSME that sells a variety of women's shoes, has joined Tokopedia since August 2017. Now Amazara employs Dilayani Tokopedia's smart warehouses in Jakarta and Surabaya.
Owner of Amazara, Uma Hapsari, added, "Our shipments’ reach have broadened to Papua since using Dilayani Tokopedia. The number of orders from provinces outside of Java has also seen a significant increase, the highest being in South Sulawesi, Riau, South Sumatera, West Kalimantan and Lampung."
After using Dilayani Tokopedia, Uma said Amazara’s inventory became more optimal, product packaging became safer, and orders were packed and shipped to customers faster. This allowed her to allocate more time towards brand development.
There is also Toko Kopi Gayo, an Aceh-based MSME selling affordable specialty coffee that has joined Tokopedia since May 2016. Toko Kopi Gayo owner Iwan Aramiko explained that his business’ production and storage sites, located deep within Aceh, pose unique fulfillment and logistical challenges. He eventually used Dilayani Tokopedia’s smart warehouse in Jakarta.
"Since making use of Dilayani Tokopedia, Toko Kopi Gayo is able to attract the Java Island and East Indonesia markets. Not only is shipping cost more affordable, but also our products reach our customers faster compared to shipping them directly from Aceh," Aramiko explained. "For Toko Kopi Gayo, Tokopedia is the number one sales contributor."
Tokopedia–a part of GoTo group, the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia consisting Gojek, Tokopedia and GoTo Financial–will continue to empower MSME to achieve more in an effort to recover the Indonesian economy.
