Jakarta, 16 September 2021 – According to recent research, Tokopedia has become the most popular e-commerce among MSMEs.* “This is because Tokopedia is considered to provide the most frequent transaction frequency, has the best quality features that are easy to operate by sellers to provide the largest sales turnover for MSMEs,” said AVP of Product Tokopedia, Puput Hidayat.

Songket PaSH owner, Kiagus Adit from Palembang, stated, “Even though sales had decreased by 60% at the beginning of the pandemic, the use of the Tokopedia platform made our sales stable again. Our turnover can now reach tens of millions of rupiah every month.”
Adit also gave tips for MSMEs, especially makers, in selling, “First, find out the best selling products, then do a competitor analysis to determine the selling price. After that, create brand awareness, one of which is by advertising through available features, such as TopAds, or installing lower prices. Speed in responding to customer chat is also key.”
Owner of Ikan Asin Medan, Tanoto Frans, an MSME reseller that empowers dozens of Medan fishermen, said, “More than 85% of our sales come from Tokopedia. Our monthly turnover has now reached hundreds of millions of rupiah,” said Frans.
Frans also shared tips on selling as an MSME reseller, “You have to be careful in choosing the right supplier so that product quality is always guaranteed because the supplier will become the seller’s long-term partner. We also have to understand people’s needs and not stop innovating.”
Tokopedia on the other hand is active in providing assistance and educational materials for local MSMEs. For example, through Pusat Edukasi Seller, Sekolah Kilat Seller (SKS) and social media. Also through various stages that help MSMEs reach more people, such as Bangga Buatan Indonesia, TokoMart, Kumpulan Toko Pilihan (KTP) and many more.
These various initiatives also boosted the categories of Health and Personal Care, Fashion, Beauty, Mother and Children as well as Children’s Fashion and Automotive into several categories with the fastest increase in transactions at Tokopedia during the second quarter of 2021.
