Forward 50 LTD's breathtaking graphics are accented with gold, and pink throughout, showing that Specialized's commitment to improving people's lives through riding has never lost any of its luster. It is reminiscent of Team Stamp Jumper, which has a deep history, and its commitment to racing that is unconventional and full of rebellious spirit. Available in limited quantities worldwide, the S-Works Prevail Forward 50 LTD is a collection that best represents the "innovate or die" attitude that has supported Specialized for the past 50 years and will continue to drive it into the future.
The S-Works Prevail 3 helmet is ideal for riders who value the comfort of superior ventilation and the benefits of temperature regulation. The ultimate all-round helmet that delivers excellent performance in the summer heat, long steep hills, and mountain stages.
In our quest to achieve the ultimate in cooling performance, the S-Works Prevail 3 removes the air-blocking foam bridge from the center of the helmet. As a result, the vent surface area is 24.5% more than the S-Works Prevail II Vent helmet, making it the largest in Specialized history. This creates channels that allow more air to flow through and cool the head.
Helmets disperse the impact energy during a crash. In traditional helmet design, it was thought that the more foam (EPS material) used, the better the dispersion. So Specialized decided to take an innovative approach and rethink energy distribution methods other than foam. AirCage is a technology that connects the left and right sides of the helmet with a cable woven from aramid fibers and secures both ends of the cable to carbon fiber side panels. When the helmet hits the ground in a crash, this technology takes the localized impact and distributes it across the helmet like a suspension bridge.
