The first Brooks LAB project release is the original leather saddle, the handmade and iconic Brooks B17 leather saddle with matching “Challenge” leather saddle bag, both laser embossed with stamps representing various locations around the world. This visual realization of Brooks England’s promise “For Boundless Journeys” invites you to take a trip without borders — no matter from which perspective.
The B17 has been the best-selling Brooks saddle for over 100 years, and during that time it has perfectly met the needs of millions of cyclists for their commute to work, on gravel roads or the road, on bike trips and bikepacking trips. Handmade in England, it retains the timeless beauty, unique flexibility and natural comfort of premium leather, which gradually adapts to the rider’s individual riding style.
Brooks also pairs the B17 with his classic Challenge saddle bag, also with a passport motif. Made of vegetable tanned leather, the first Challenge was designed and patented as early as 1896, a leather tool bag that fits the pocket eyelets on the back of the saddle. With buckles that are fixed in the holder itself, guaranteeing greater stability — while fixing the bag to the saddle. A strap secures the unit and also covers the included tools, preventing loud rattling while riding.
