The Planar 1 features a new arm with the designation RB110 - This arm features the latest Rega designed "zero play" ball bearing assembly with ultra-low friction performance (Patent Pending). New automatic bias assembly, re-designed stiffer vertical bearing housing, integrated arm clip, and a new ergonomically re-designed and stiffer headshell for improved usability and appearance.

Planar 1 becomes the first entry level Rega turntable to use a 24v synchronous AC motor with a new motor PCB and aluminium pulley. This offers the benefits of low noise and better speed stability.

To ensure the Planar looks as beautiful as it sounds it sports a brand new thermoset gloss laminated plinth with vastly improved appearance and new ergonomically positioned on/off switch located on the underside. Gloss Black and White finishes are available.

Rega have uprated the platter to a higher mass 23mm phenolic resin type for improved speed stability and also re-engineered the feet for improved vibration rejection completing an impressive package. The "Performance Pack" is also available for those who want to take their vinyl playback to the next level. This consists of an upgraded 100% wool mat, impoved drive belt and a Rega Bias cartridge that can be easily added to the Planar 1 or 2 turntables.
